Ukrainian heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk and British boxing star Tyson Fury are set to share a staggering $190 million purse for their highly anticipated rematch, scheduled for Saturday. This marks the second meeting between the two fighters in 2024, following their electrifying first bout in May.
Unlike their initial showdown, this rematch will not carry the undisputed heavyweight title, as Usyk was recently stripped of the full IBF belt. However, the fight remains one of the most lucrative in boxing history.
According to The Independent, the prize money will be split 55-45 in Usyk’s favor, reflecting his victory in the first encounter. Usyk claimed the win via split decision, solidifying his reputation as one of the most formidable fighters in the division.
In their first bout, Fury walked away with a guaranteed $100 million, while Usyk earned $45 million. This time, the dynamics have shifted, with the Ukrainian champion set to secure the larger share of the purse.
Usyk enters the rematch as the favorite, buoyed by his impressive performance in May. However, Fury, known for his resilience and unpredictable style, will be eager to avenge his loss and reclaim dominance in the heavyweight division.
The rematch is expected to draw global attention, as fans eagerly anticipate another thrilling chapter in one of boxing’s most compelling rivalries.
