British-Nigerian singer Darkoo has accused Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr. P of the P-Square duo, of sabotaging her newly released single, Focus On Me.

In a viral post on her X (formerly Twitter) handle, Darkoo claimed that the music video for her song, released on January 2, 2024, was removed from YouTube for six days due to copyright infringement allegations. She alleged that Peter Okoye orchestrated the takedown out of spite, following her refusal to feature him on the track.

“My music video was taken down for six days by Peter of P-Square in an attempt to completely sabotage the song. I have all the necessary clearance for the sample, and they are already receiving 50%,” Darkoo wrote.

The singer further explained that Peter Okoye had approached her with a request to be featured on the song. Despite agreeing to include him on the remix, she claimed he became hostile when his demands were not fully met.

“Mr. P created a new verse for the track and told me not to speak to his brothers, Paul and Jude Okoye. But as soon as the song dropped, he switched on me and started causing problems. Even when I wanted him on the remix, it wasn’t enough for him. Instead, he acted out of anger and tried to sabotage the project because I didn’t bow to his demands. It’s sad and disappointing,” she added.

Peter Okoye, who has faced previous controversies involving his twin brother Paul and their elder brother Jude Okoye, has not yet responded to Darkoo’s accusations.

The incident has sparked conversations among fans and industry stakeholders about professional ethics and artist collaborations in the music industry.

As of the time of this report, Focus On Me has been reinstated on YouTube, though the fallout from the allegations continues to generate public interest.
